I think i am getting two Poison Dart Frogs for my birthday in May! They will be black, with bright yellow markings, and crisp black spots! I think i am getting a breeding pair. My science teacher has 4, and is educating me on everything about them!

Naming them DC and Toxic i believe! :applause: I will post Pics below!

Ooh I love bumblebees! I don't currently own a lot of frogs, but I used to be a huge enthusiast! I owned African Dwarf Frogs and Firebellied Toads, which I still have, as well as Pacific Chorus Frogs, American Bullfrogs, California Tree Frogs, Sierran Tree Frogs, White's Tree Frogs, Pacman Frogs, Bumblebee Walking Toads, and Pyxie Frogs. Though darts are very high maintenance and delicate, so I haven't ever owned them. Are these your first frogs? Keep in mind keeping, let alone breeding dart frogs is expensive and time consuming. I'm still going to stalk this thread though lol.

WHOW that's a lot!
Is Bumblebee that specie/breed? 0-0
Haha yep! My Science teacher (and great friend) is teaching my LOTS! :p
But yes, breeding is def a big hassle, I might not even get male and female... Dunno yet :p
I still have a LOT more studying to do on top of school and HW and taking care of my pets :)
Heehee thank you!

Ok! Hehehe :ninja:

Yep, Bumblebees are the species you posted. They are pretty hardy as far as dart frogs go, and the best species for beginners. They do really well in large groups, so you may want to consider more than 2! Have you joined this forum?

Very informative and active! Plus you can adopt frogs from members because it is completely safe to ship them. I'm on this forum as well!

So I have a question, can they breath in our air? Cause don't they need special chemicals in their air? Cause that's what it kinda sounded like.... But I might have just Mis-understood.

Yes, they can breathe air! They just need high humidity and plenty of shallow water sources. They need certain chemicals to produce toxins, though I'm sure that's not a necessity for a pet owner:)

No problem! Frog Forum is wonderful, and I know there are a few dart frog breeders. Not sure about the species you're looking for, but it's definitely worth checking the classifieds.:)

At my local zoo, there's a new amphibian exhibit with a HUGE (and I mean maybe 500 gallon) enclosure with a few species of dart frogs. They're so beautiful and entertaining! Where do you plan on getting them?

I'm a frogaholic, so I'm definitely becoming a member of this thread. Can it be all frogs?

Frog shows? Never heard that one! There are plenty of expos and super shows where I live, but usually they're for all reptiles and amphibians.

hehe yep! A show-frogs only!

So what do frogs live in?
A terrarium? Is that what they are called? With the lid and lights and dampness and stuff?

Yep! I have so many right now hehe. You could've taken advantage of the $1 per gallon sale and gotten yourself a 40B! The general rule of thumb is 10 gallons per frog, and long is preferred to high.
