I know puppy mills also never give any of there animals fresh air,Or any excersice never get out of a cage listen ot this poem

A Puppy Mill Poem
Day after day..
each one the same,
another year older
a little more lame
left out in the weather
with little protection
my body is sore
and hot with infection
in the freezing cold
or the searing heat
with nothing but wire
beneath swollen feet
my food bowl is empty
my water dish dry
What did I do??
please tell me, why?
the litters come
and the litters go
where do they take them?
I don't know...
is this a bad joke?
or a horrible game?
I have no home
not even a name
no one to love me
no one to care
no one to bathe me
and brush my hair
my teeth are rotting
my eyes are encrusted
where are the people
to whom I'm entrusted?
I cry every night...
so afraid, don't you see?
could this be the life
God intended for me?
someone, speak for me
I am losing my will
take me out of this <basement>
called a puppy mill

i didnt write this poem but wanted to share.

I know I'm not getting a horse anytime soon, but...

Anyone who is an even better horse expert than me, what breed and size of a horse would be good for a 5 foot tall 74 pound girl like me? I was thinking a nice and sturdy Quarter horse, about 14 or 15 hands.

I've known way too many people that got just because they are cute.
For me, yes I buy for their cuteness but I am never giving them away when they gets big.

I think people should do some time in jail for mistreating animals. It's very wrong. It's like somebody mistreating people is the way I look at things.

I'd recently found out that my friend wanted to get a hamster, but I also realised that she did not do ANY research at all as when I asked her what was her favourite breed, she told me she did not know any hamster breed. At that time I was like so shocked at her... Fortunately I have been researching about hamsters for the past about 1 year and will probably get my hamster at Oct-Dec, so that leaves about 9 mths more to research, well thats what I'm here for, to learn! :cheeky:

YES! i completely agree pet stores are a very bad choice and the animals are if not already are going to get sick and have a shorter life. also what she said about researching before you buy is important because if they dont fit your lifestyle thats just another animal that needs to be rescued.

I totally agree, as, at the end of the day, humans are animals too, and, at the end of the day, we are all the same.

When buying a pet, some people are such horrible owners. You may not be throwing your pet against a wall but unproper conditions is also abuse towards the animal and many people forget the main questions too ask yourself before buying your pet, when people don't the animal ends up sick and dying. People also get from petstores, I don't like this idea since many petstores say they get their pets from highclass breeders when really they get it from mills, small animal mills, puppy mills, kitty mills and the list goes on, they also get diseases in later life.

Mill defintion- They let their pets breed and suffer, not giving proper living conditions and the animal gets sick in later life.

The questions too ask youself before buying a pet-
WIll I BE ABLE TOO GIVE IT PROPER LIVING CONDITIONS?

DO I KNOW THE BACKROUND ON THIS ANIMAL?

IS THIS ANIMAL FROM A MILL?

DOES THIS PLACE LOOK SAFE TOO BUY FROM?

DO I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED TOO GET FOR THE ANIMAL?

CAN I GIVE IT INTERACTIVE TIME IF IT NEEDS IT?

Many people forget this part, it sickens me.

This post is old but it is very helpful, SP here makes a points

I hope everyone read what SouthPaw had too say :)
