The BioBubble was a so called "Hamster Cage" which was supposed to be ideal for a hamsters to live in providing all the necessary space. thumbsdown.gif

Thanks to the YouTube Community and comments from Hamster Owners/Lovers the company has decided to discontinue the product thumbsup.gif

I can't not help but to think that Hamster Hideout members had something to do with it, after seeing a multitude of comments stating the "Minimum 360 sq inch requirement" yes.gif

So woot! We have finally some good news about hamster cages and hopefully in future adequate hamster cages will be made and the welfare of hamsters will be improved!   cloud9.gif hug.gif highfive.gif

I think we certainly helped!

It just goes to show how much of a difference a community such as this one can make "out there" :)

Be proud, everyone :)

It actually looks like they're still being manufactured and sold. This particular company (bigapplepetsupply) just chose not to sell it anymore. While it's a step in the right direction these cages are still available :(

Well, even if it continues to be sold, the huge price tag on it will drive away most pet owners, haha ;)

wish they would stop selling small cages because so many people don't find a good hamster site like Hamster Hideout to tell them that a hamster needs 360 square inches of room. But small cages, unsuitable supplies, and pine and cedar and other unsafe bedding continues to sell. It would be so much simpler if someone could walk into a pet store, select food, bedding, and other supplies, and when they ask an expert if their supplies are safe the expert would say yes. That person would say hey, go to this store because they have safe, good quality products. I think a pet store would do better with a smaller selection of safe products than a larger selection of unsafe products that bring unsatisfied customers coming back demanding there money be returned to them.

I kinda want one for a single betta with a bunch of high rises :D Also, if that could be an add-on, I would totes use it with a high rise or two for a gerbil! I mean, fill it with bedding, and BAM! Burrow cage! But we got rid of it. /highfive!

If it wasn't so small, I think it would be an awesome hamster cage... If they increased the diameter of the cylinder and the bubble to meet 360 sq inches on every level, and made each level a little taller, I think it would be awesome.

I have seen that cage before, my friend actually bought it thumbsdown.gif I bought her a new one RIGHT AWAY, and I have been around my community and local pet stores that have been selling the product, and have told them it was a no no. They actually stopped ordering them! I also have been around Youtube a bit, telling people it's a no no and such, and on my old website and such, and I am SOOOOOOOOO HAPPY they have discontinued it! Good work HH! starry-eyed.gif
