Hi! My gf bought a pair of lovely short hair syrians for me as a birthday gift earlier this year. They mulitiply really quickly and i have about 20 of hamsters now! Im running out of space for them as they are bigger than normal dwarf hamsters. I bought them from Pet Mart at Serangoon North. You think they will buy or take in the hamsters that I have? If not does any shops buy hamsters from you? Anyone interested in Syrians can pm me! thanks!

Please separate the males and females otherwise in another short while you will have 50. Hamsters can mate within seconds Even after just giving birth plus their gestation is only about 2.5 weeks.

Sadly, there seems to be no shortage of hamsters in the world and oftentimes there are more hamsters than there are willing homes. Don't count on a pet store to welcome them in with open arms, though it is worth a shot. I know that for me, personally, if my pet store accidentally sells me a pair of opposite sex hamsters, than they will take the offspring. You might also try any shelters.

In the future it's important to note that adults syrian hamsters should be kept alone, not together. Even if you were okay with them mating, the male and female should not live together. Also, after a certain age, the babies must also be separated and each have their own cage. This obviously poses a problem for you as you have many hamsters that will all eventually need their own cage.

Just remember this one rule: Syrians are Solitary :)
