Yes, I'm sure it is. I have never heard of the color 'Wild type'.
Maybe it's just another name for it. :D

Agouti is the color type found in the wild.

Luci is right. ^_^
I think wild type was established because Winter Whites with the
agouti patterning were commonly found within their origin area.
The sapphire and pearl colorings, I think, were from the cause of
breeding. That's what I think, but I just know I'm wrong. ^^;;

Technically, Pearl is a pattern :) you can have Sapphire Pearls and Agouti Pearls.

:S Ive been told that Kriem (sold as a winter white) is pudding colour... but she is changing coat colours at the moment into a lighter coat... I thought puddings were hybrids, but if so then how come shes changing coats like a pure winter white

*edit* Wild type refers to the original/natural type, in this case coat colour, so the others have derived from a mutated agouti allele ^^

Some hybrids have been known to change coat colours too. It depends upon the lighting and even slightly on the temperature, even with pure WWs.

:) I just thought she was patchy but the darker areas have almost gone completely, really happy I've been able to witness it as it seems to be a rare thing to find winter whites that do change coats ^_^

Thanks because now I know that I have an Agouti and a Pearl pair (brothers/cage mates at local Pet-Co)!

My Tess isn't a pure winter white, either, and her coat changes. It looks a little funny, like she has a bit of a saddle on her, but it's all quite cute. :) My other winter white barely changes her coat. It just gets a little paler.
