Victoria Stilwell is awesome! She's all positive training, but I think her show ended.

I'm so bad at keeping up with my favorite shows.

Well written! In the link CM FAQ The first video with the lab, I found the dog to be uneasy. Dogs do not like to be stared at. In some dogs staring can lead to them being aggressive. That's most likely why the dog bit him after. The only reason why a dog would "submit" to a person is because of fear.

I have a male dog and he is pretty aggressive toward other male dogs because he wants to be the (king). I socialized him and now he's doing better. This info is great to:) Thanks.

This is really helpful to starting dog owners and people who already have dogs. I used to believe the Dominance Theory but you totally changed my mind. Thanks for posting this!

That is interesting...

I have a question.

My dog likes my mom more than the rest of the family. He also is more likely to obey her. We always thought that it was because she is "alpha" so I'm curious if he just knows that she trained him and likes her more because of that... Let me know what you think!

Also, I've come across the show "The Dog Whisperer" a few times, and I never really liked his methods... they just don't seem right.

Some dogs and some breeds just form stronger bonds with one person than the rest of the family. It also makes sense that the person who spends the most time with the dog trains the dog and gives the dog rewards, food, etc is usually the person they bond most closely too.

My dog is trained to know certain words like “sit” and “no” and “go” and “go out.” She also knows the names of her toys, and also wherever was say “the door” or “here” she started barking because she thinks somebody is outside.
