oh dear, that's sad to know. you must be sad too coz you can't rear hamsters. do you have other pets? just like to let you know that you are still very welcome at our forum!I just want to know what places, cuz New Zealand doesnt allow hamsters... :(

Ahh that's too bad. I guess I've never thought of a hamster being something that could be banned. I thought that was mostly animals like ferrets and prairie dogs. If you have other pets, that makes it better if you can't get a certain one.

hamsters breed quickly and easily so they might upset the ecological balance in the wildlife environments that New Zealand & Australia have, especially since they have some unique animals of their own and hamsters are not found naturally there (i think).

Yes, Australia already has a problem with rabbits destroying crops. I don't think they would risk letting any other animal also disturb their agriculture.
