I think its not just about hamsters. Whether it's chinchilla, mink, ermine, etc, it's cruel. Fur is evil. It all sounds very PETA I know, but the only people who wear dead animal skins are from the stone age. That's why I don't support fur. Or even leather for all I'm concerned.

definitely feel the same way!  this season i've noticed the fashion mags are showing a lot of fur again :yuck: i was gonna buy a few fall fashion mags like vogue and elle last week but i flipped thru them and saw all the fur and it just so turned me off!

i have to goof especially when i see younger famous rich ppl like jLo or jessica simpson wearing fur like they think it makes them glamorous. they look like some old out-of-touch matron! airheads!

some ppl will turn this around and say, well ppl eat meat! and this and that. but i say if ppl start even just one step at a time~~ like, i won't wear fur! it makes them think abt it a little and abt the other things they do that cause animals profound pain. so i disagree one has to do all or nothing. that's ridiculous. any small bit of awareness builds on itself.

you'd be amazed at how many cute shoes and boots you can now buy that are completely synthetic. even in horseback riding, which is definitely old-skool, the mfgs are now offering synthetic-leather riding boots, saddles and bridles.

yea i agree too!!! it is cure 4 any animal to die so some1 can wear them, but some people are like that!!!I personal hate it when i c fur coats, people never stop to think that they had to take an animal's life to make them!!!

[QUOTE] i hav read a pets magazine which i bought in a pets fair at expo, inside it show how mice n hamsters been treated inside a lab. its REALLY REALLY bad(e.g using sissisors to cut the head). and they even post out the photos on it.

A friend of mine told me something she read online. The animal testing methods used by cosmetic companies e.g.,the Draize Eye Test or whatever it's called, are very crude. Like, a certain shampoo on the market may claim to reduce hair loss. ( I'm not quoting any names here ) and this was proven through animal testing...and sure enough, it WILL reduce hair loss. For about, I don't know, 2 weeks? I used to wash my hair with this particular brand of shampoo. ( I was unaware that the company that came up with that product advocates animal testing. ) True enough, a few weeks later, the effect of the shampoo wore off and my scalp got all itchy and sensitive. These days I only use products that DO NOT engage in animal testing and it's great. So encourage those around you to use products that do not advocate animal testing, if not for the animals, then do it for yourself.

Fur is a want and is for vanity, its different from eating which is a need for survival. I think its lame when those fur wearing bimbos said we kill animals also to eat meat. I wonder how will those bimbo starlets and models feel when someone wants to use their beautiful hair to make the ultimate hair coat, and proceed to rip out their scalp for the hair. Then again, I guess they are too stupid and clueless to think about it since in the first place, they fail to understand the torment of those animals used to make their fur coats.

In fact, I never buy any brand of clothes that sells real fur coat.

Maybe one day, some aliens or more superior beings come upon this earth and adore the hair on our human heads and decide to use it as their own clothing garment. How will those people feel... Some people should just really put themselves into other's shoes just to realize what it feels like

Don't buy fur or any magazines with fur stuff on it. Soon they'll think it's the furs fault and MAYBE they'll stop.

-wakes up to reality-

Has anyone written the stuff yet?

unfortunately, as long as there are brain-dead humans, there will be those who insist on their "right" to wear fur. too bad they don't know how fat and ugly a fur coat makes them look   !!
