Some have had in the twenties.

My syrian bless her soul had 16.

Only eight survived.
We believe two were stillborn
She culled four- only two we could actually find the bodies :(
Then one we had in hand care due to mommy rejecting them passed on from tumors and such.
Another was injured and passed on.

R.I.P. To them all but we love them.

The other eight are happy and healthy and 23 days old today (:

Max average is the 14 but it depend on the capacity of the hamster.
instead of 14 only the average remains is 7 to 8 can survive.

Was it accidental, or did you purposely breed them?

This can sometimes occur if the mother is too young or inadequately prepared for birth. It's very taxing on their bodies to have babies, but even more so if they are still growing OR if they have passed the prime age for breeding.

It is really not healthy to breed hamsters without the proper experience and care. Proper breeders actually take years to train themselves so that they are adequately prepared - and they take the time and knowledge of their research to understand the hamsters' genetics and such.

You yourself just said that you do not even have the correct cage for the ones you have now, so you would really be unprepared to handle newborn pups and would ultimately experience failure and so much hurt.

Just enjoy the ones you have now and separate them as fast as you can, to deter from more babies as your female obviously cannot handle the situation of breeding.

This forum will not help or support your breeding desires, but we would be more than happy to help you correct the issues you have now and with the pups that you are dealing with, as long as you do not breed anymore.

Please take this advice, as you are going to seriously stress out your poor babies by allowing them to breed under poor circumstances.

If you need any help, please do not hesitate to ask - but please! Do not breed anymore!

This isn't the form to come for breeding to. We Do not Support Breeding it's actually very frowned apon. If you want more hamsters Adopt There's NO Reason to breed.

Your hamster is having small litters because she clearly is NOT in the physical state to have babies, and her small litters are obviously showing that her body can't handle it. You're harming your hamster by continuously breeding. We do NOT condone breeding. Too many hamsters need homes. Breeding takes many years of knowledge and expertise. The fact that you don't even have another cage shows just how inexperienced you are. It is not something you just do casually. I strongly suggest you stop breeding if you want your hamster to thrive and live a happy life.

Alright , as much as i want to throw my two cents in , i think we have all said enough.
Even if there is more that can actually be expressed and said. Now everyone , i think
it's better than to repeat everything and then have it ring on deaf ears due to too much
repetition. ^_^

Milky , please take our words into thought and thinking for your hamsters and not more
upon ourselves and the need for more hamsters. Make the ones you have now happy
first. Adopt and save the lives of many hamsters being used as cheap gifts and snake
food.

But with that being said , we are pretty strict due to our care and our love for them. Not
because we are calling someone dumb , alright ? (: Please think about it . <33

Yes, enough has been said at this point regarding the breeding issue. :) Perhaps you can start a new topic, milky, if you have further questions and need more info. :goodvibes:
