Rodents should be classified as omnivorous and not herbivorous mainly, because, first rodents were omnivorous,by their Bunodont molars, also a lot of rodents are carnivorous like shrew rats,crab-eating rats, long noused squirrels, grasshopper mice, and others, and others are omnivorous, but some dumb people thinks they are herbivores just because they lack canines

Rodents are many animals. I don't believe you can classify all of them as 1.for example guinea pigs are herbivores, and I don't think there is any reason to say ALL rodents are omnivore :)

I agree with HamsterLover246, not all rodents are herbivores, and if feed a omnivore diet would not get any nutrients and may become sick/pass away because of malnourishment.

But I totally get were to your coming from, Rapha689Pro, some rodents, like hamsters, are often mistaken as herbivores, and get feed that diet. Sadly some hamsters will pass away because of malnourishment, which is very sad as sometimes people will just assume that hamsters are herbivores and feed them that diet, instead of doing proper research.

Overall, I think rodents should be classified as both omnivores and herbivores, because some rodents are herbivores ( ex. Guinea pigs), and some rodents are omnivores.

Thanks for creating this topic :) ,

You are clearly saying rodents should be classified as omnivores, in I am clearly answering that I don't think there needs to be one term for all rodents :)some rodents are omnivores, some carnivorous, and some herbivore. What is the problem with every breed having their own classification? Maybe you ment HAMSTERS are omnivores, which is completely true, but no need to generalise with all rodents;)
