Soooo for 10 years my parents said that we would be getting pet fish. But now it’s *probably* true that it will be soon so I’m gonna have A LOT of questions on this stuff. But for now, I just need to know, how do you measure an aquarium? The tank looks like a 10 gallon but my mom insists that it’s a 40 gallon so I just want to make sure. Thanks!

What are the dimensions of the aquarium? A standard rectangular 10 gallon tank would be 20” by 10” by 12”. A 40 gallon breeder is 36” by 18” by 17”.

10 gallon tanks are about the size of a small hamster cage. A 40 would be much bigger. Measure the tank and compare it to the dimensions that Remy stated above.
