I am so sorry everyone. Tad is gone. He was all skinny, and limp in the bedding. I wish I found out sooner than 2 days later... I thought he was sleeping when I went clean his cage, but he was obviously limp and cold. He was only 11 Months old. I noticed it when a foul smell hit me. We might get him cremated tommorow or so.
This is all my fault. I didn't give him the best life. I knew I should've taken him to the vet when he started to sneeze.
I can't stop crying, my head is spinning.
I'm sorry.
-BobaTad, probably won't be online for a while.

Oh no I'm so sorry! Don't blame yourself for this, I know it's hard to get a hammy to the vet. Hey, maybe it wan't even that, it could just be genetics. You gave him the best life you could, which is honestly better than a lot of people. He's in a better place now. Just be happy for those eleven amazing months you spent with him.

I'm so so so sorry, It's not your fault.

I feel like it's my fault with my hamster Calla, I only had her for three months. Her water bottle was empty when I found her, and I feel a ton of guilt about that, but I'm also not convinced that was what got her. It kills me not to know, and I feel like there's something I should've noticed. Her cage was also smaller than I thought it was when I measured it again, only 450 square inches, and she was visibly unhappy.

I think everyone feels it's their fault when a pet dies, at least to some degree. But even if there's something you should've done better, even if you should've done everything better, what you can do now is remember him and do better with your future hamsters, or continue to better hamster life from afar. He wouldn't want you feeling guilty about what you could've done, he would want you to remember all the good things that you did, and all the good memories with him.

I'm fairly new here and don't know many of you, and I didn't know Tad, but I know he was an amazing hamster and had a great life with you. :heartbeat:

It is not your fault.

Things happen, and they happen for a reason. Just like ~Dwarf Planet~ said, it could've been down to bad genetics.

Rest in peace Tad, play well at the :rainbow: bridge. :heartbeat:

I froze when I read the title, because Tad is such an important hamster to the community.

You loved him so much and he loved you so much too.

Please don't blame yourself, you gave him a great life.

Tad would want you to remember the best memories you guys had together..

I am here if you need anything <33

RIP Tad <3

We all blame ourselves when we lose something we were taking care of. Sometimes life doesnt go the way we wished or they dont live the life we hoped. That's okay because you gave him a lovely life with love. I lost my year old girl to ringworm and something else and because of her water bottle emptying once months ago, I blamed myself for a long time. It's hard to make it to vets in time because things over take hamsters in the blink of an eye. Rest in peace tad, you are forever loved and missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Hamsters are good at hiding their symptoms and can be a lot sicker than we think. It's not your fault. We don't speak the same language. We can only do the best we can. You gave him an amazing life! He was one lucky ham!

God bless, little Tad. Rest in peace, dear hammy.
