Just found this site, and some of the stories about hamsters passing on have given me some comfort while I deal with the loss of Pam.

Pam was 18 months old and we loved her a lot, so much that I enjoyed cleaning her cage even, and I loved letting her run around the house. She was so tame and loved getting out of the cage and didn't mind being handled by anyone.

Several days ago I didn't shut her cage and she escaped outside, and we haven't seen her since. We're pretty sure she's gone, as it's winter, and it's been close to freezing most nights.

I'm devastated, and I am still going out in the evenings and mornings calling for her. I'm so sad because I never got to say goodbye properly and hold her one last time.

Goodbye Pam, I loved you and will never forget you. RIP

I’m so sorry for your loss

Even if it is a small chance, there is still a chance she my have a warm little corner and is still alive. I would watch Victoria Rachel's video on how to find a list hamster and see if you can use any of those tips when looking for Pam. I hope you the best

I agree with Poptart, there is a chance she may still be alive. I would be setting out food and water every moment of the day and night in different places for awhile. I once lost my hamster for a week and did this which allowed me to find her huddled in a drawer with a huge stash of food.
I'm not saying she is alive... there is a good chance she isnt but it's worth a shot. I'm so sorry for what your going through and I hope everything turns out okay. My PMS are always open ❤

I’m so sorry for your loss!!!

However like the others said, it’s possible she could still be alive. This happened with one of my previous hamsters and I never found her again, but there’s always a chance.
Good luck and I really hope you find Pam!!
