Goodnight Chansey…

Chansey ended up passing all the eggs and her impaction, which is amazing that her little body did that, but… she started laying a new batch of eggs.
Now being egg bound ruins the insides of a dragon, so can impaction (this wasn’t a little impaction either, it was tons and tons of sand) and Chansey is very very strange looking (in like the cutest way, will link pictures)
So turns out, or at least want we’re assuming, her body and organs were crushed and messed up from that, and laying the new eggs were just too hard on her. So she left us in sleep.
I don’t think any of us have cried this hard over a pet. The strong bond my family has with our reptiles is just… insane. Chansey was our little baby. I’m wanting to cry just thinking about it. I decorated her little container and my dad and mom buried her. My dad and sister both keep finding ways to blame themselves which is just heartbreaking.
Seeing her limp little body was just too devastating, and she was having body twitches all over her which I heard they do when they pass.
So, just wanted to share that. My sister is doing kinda okay, she got a ball python named Chowder and he’s helping her through the loss.
We love you Chansey

So, my sisters bearded dragon passed away a few days ago. The vet thought she had cancer, because she had a “tumor” that looks just like the one they just discovered so they didn’t have medication for it, so it was a lost cause. Well, she didn’t die when we were expecting her to, but she started laying deformed eggs. She was egg bound. And impacted, because the exotic place she had them from put her on calcium sand… which we expected better from them since they seem like such a good place and all the animals are from breeders or are rescues.

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you guys did the best you could for her and that she was loved. Considering how many animals are unloved, this is an amazing gift for them. My family also gets very attached to our little hammies. I consider myself blessed to have people in my life who love my pets as much as I do.
Rest in peace, little Chansey. May you rest in God's arms.

thanks <3Egg bound is such a sadly common and devastating disease in reptiles...but I'm glad she left this world in peace in her sleep. May she rest with no more pain. Lovely girl went through so much.
