So, I've seen a lot of reviews and assembly tutorials that dont actually know why gloves come with the niteangel cage setup.
The first part when setting up niteangel cages is to lay out all your pieces neatly and lay down your bottom board. Then, you attach pieces of the wood to the back and secure it with rubber bands. Next is putting on the sides, which was fairly simple, then you had to set in the largest acrylic glass piece in the front. I really recommend having at least on other person to help set them up because lining up the sides is tricky.
My boyfriend was holding one side while I was pushing in the frame over the glass acrylic on the other. As I pushed the other side slipped from his hands and my thumb suddenly hurt a little. I looked at it and realized that I had just given myself a paper-cut of monumental proportions from the glass. It was in that moment I realized why they give you gloves. Paper cuts hurt way more then they should and as blood dripped down I was just screaming in surprise and pain haha!
For the rest of the assembly I put on the gloves. Thankfully, after a little super glue, gauze and bandages after a few days it is already almost disappeared.
Moral of the story: WEAR THE GLOVES WHEN SETTING IN THE ACRYLIC GLASS PIECES.
Thank you for reading, be safe everyone and spoil your hammies. Niteangel cages are wonderful and is a cage you'll never have to replace or fix. Consider it. The price is worth it when you consider how less often you need to fully change out bedding in the cage and the happiness you give your babies in their short lives.
