A local Petsmart had some small animal stuff to clear out. Instead of putting it on clearance, they contacted the local rat rescue to donate. The rat rescue contacted the hamster/guinea pig rescue who contacted the rabbit rescue. They are splitting the items, according to needs and species-appropriateness. Other items will be taken to rural shelters or will be sold to raise funds for the rescues. It's thousands of dollars of bedding, toys, cages, playpens, etc. Admittedly, the cages aren't huge, but they can be used for temporary housing or transport.
