Hey guys!!

So I have noticed the past (maybe) two weeks, Tinkerbell had been drinking a ton of water. And ever since I got her she drinks more than Ferdinand does, but now I think she is drinking more water.

Part of the problem though is that idk exactly how much water Tinkerbell is drinking, since I have two bunnies, and Ferdinand might be drinking a considerable amount too.

Tinkerbell previously had a very bad infestation of mites (I think that’s what it was at least) in her body when the vet went to do her spay. This would have been in (roughly) October, so several months ago. I was wondering if this could be a sign of mites and (yes we did treat them) could they still be in her body?

When I am in the bunny’s room, Tinkerbell will go over to the water bowl and drink like half of it, which doesn’t seem like a good amount. I was wondering if this could be mites again or some type of infection.

All responses are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!!

I’d honestly have a vet look at her. It sounds like it could be a UTI or some other internal thing. I haven’t heard of excess drinking being a sign of mites. If it is mites, your other bun will most likely have them too. I hope you figure out what is going on.

In addition to it being a UTI, I've also heard it can be a sign of kidney issues as well. Other than drinking a lot of water, is there any other symptoms she's showing? Is she acting like her normal self?

If you have a pet camera maybe you can set it up and see who's drinking the majority of the water, or just even set a phone/computer there and record on timelapse and see who's drinking the majority of the water :)

Thank you both so much!!
