Ok this is going to be kind of a rant.

I have this “friend” who claims to loovveee animals. (Spoiler alert, she does not) when we were in fourth grade, her family got two rabbits named Oreo and flopsy. FROM A BACKYARD BREEDER. The rabbits had terrible temperaments, and would attack her and her siblings. They also lived outside, and I live in Washington. There are so many bears, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons etc. their enclosure was tiny, wire bottomed, and very poorly built. Anyway, after only a few weeks, they got attacked. Flopsy was found in a neighbors yard. With no head. Oreo was found alive, and they took him back in. He lived with acceptable care for a while, free roaming in their house, until they decided to get another bunny.

This time they actually went to a reputable breeder, and they got the cutest, sweetest, mini holland lop ever. His name was chewie. (I named him) it turned out that chewie and Oreo did not get along so they put Them both into cages. Oreos had the Midwest wabbitat, which was very small, especially because he was over 2 feet long. (I don’t remember his breed, but he was big!)

the worst part was chewies cage. He lived in a CRITTERTRAIL hamster cage. These cages are not even acceptable for mice let alone rabbits! He had no room to do anything. He couldn’t even turn around. There was no room for a food bowl so they just sprinkled his food through the bars, and most of it landed in his fur so he couldn’t actually eat it. The door was small the they couldn’t get him out without taking the cage apart. The only time he ever came out was when I was there to play with him. I loved him so much, he was so sweet. They almost never cleaned either cage and their house smelled soooo bad.

After about a year of this, they rehomed them. Hopefully they are in a better place now.
I could go on and on about all the hamsters (7 dead hamsters in a year) and fish (two bettas in a separated 0.5 gallon “tank”) this family abused, but this is long enough already. Let’s just say, I’m not really friends with this person anymore.
