Which hamster species do you think is the best?! Reply here with your opinions!  :hamster5:  :hamster4:

I'll go first, I think roborovski hamsters are the best! This may be a little biased because I own and have only ever owned one hamster, who just so happens to be a robo! My favourite species before I got a hamster was syrians. I think it was because they were the reason i fell in love with hamsters, and they seem to be the most common species. But now I love robos for their cute fur patterns and colours, overall adorableness and definitely their speed  :dizzy: i think it's so cute how fast dusty can run! He runs so fast on his wheel it's crazy  :starry-eyed: What are your opinions?

I think they're all great, I'd love to have a robo one day. Overall I do think I have a favorite, between syrians and dwarfs.

I've had syrians the most and longest, but dwarfs are so.. adorable. When they roll around in sand, become balls, lay like a pancake on their wheels, its all so cute.

My current syrian lays down on her wheel too but it's just isn't the same lol. I still love syrians but overall favorite species? Definitely dwarfs, adorable little balls of floof.

The reason I decided to started researching hamster and owning is cause I saw a really cute robo in the pet store.

I don’t have a favorite hamster cause I think it is individual personality.

My fav based on looks alone would be Syrians as they come in so many pretty colors. I also think winter whites are pretty in their winter coat.

Based on behavior in their cage I would like dwarfs as they are really cute when they roll in their sand and when they sit down to eat they look like little balls of floof.

I need all the FLOOFS! but seriously, I think Syrians are my favorite because Graham Cracker is my heart hamster. I wish I had a picture of her to share. Though I am seriously thinking of rescuing a dwarf or robo next (though they seem to be rarely up for adoption here) just to have a different experience. My previous experience with dwarves were well, less than ideal lol

I love those little Syrian noses and the feet that run behind them and how curious they are.

Aaaaahhhh, this is kinda a hard decision between hybrids and robos for me lol. Personally I dislike Syrians in general, I don't find them too cute as well as they're so big. Maybe it's just cause they resemble bears and I don't like bears (pls dont ask lol) but I think certain ones can be cute, and I've never really had experience with them... so i'm kinda biased idk xD

my first hamster was a hybrid dwarf, and even tho i had him in trash conditions, he never seemed stressed and always was so sweet, and never bit. He was also so smart and even learned a couple tricks! I think they're sooo smushy and cute lol (i've known four) so i love them!

However my second hamster was a robo and she was just full of personality, and so so cuteeee! She was mean at first, then so so sweet, and let me hold her and she crawled all over me, but then as she aged she became a mean little old hermit lady lol

I think chinese are cute but just meh imo... ive never owned one tho!

We definitely love Syrians here :D   (Though I loved my childhood Campbell)

I don't feel like either species in particular is "superior". They each have awesome qualities!  As someone said above, some *individuals* are superior ;)

THATS SO HARD

This is 100% based on personalities of my hamsters but uhhhhh

I like that my syrian is a lot more social and loves coming out of her cage and interacting with me!! But it's also really stressful because she's so hard to please being a female syrian.

I like that my robo is easy to please, but he isn't very social and because he gets up late I don't know much about his personality

so I'm going to have to go with syrians also I love how fluffy long haired syrians are and thats impossible to be beaten

so syrians but theyre all amazing jksghsdgjsghsdjglsdh

;D

Ohh, most people use RCD instead of CRD, which was why I was confused. :rotfl:

I'm going to interpret "superior" as "most likely to conquer the world." Chinese hamsters are the obvious choice here. They have a dangerous combination of agility, sleekness, and wild instincts. They can slip through tiny openings and scale impressive heights. And those prehensile tails! If they learn how to read, they will hack the major servers around the world and hold the internet hostage. I just know it.

Meanwhile, my WW-leaning hybrids would just be chewing my slippers and asking me to open sunflower seeds for them (Note to the wise: don't let your hamsters know you can open seeds).

Haha! Yes I totally agree. I bet chinese hamsters are plotting world domination right now  :cheeky:
