I'm potentially going to be watching some piggies for a friend. I am sure I will get instructions, but I know everyone on here is very educated on top of the line care for small mammals.

Anything in particular should I know? Watch for?  Give me your best piggy advice. =)

my only thing is don't be too obsessed with making sure there is no poop, they poop A LOT and when I had piggies I was always so frustrated because I needed to clean up every single poop. the water bottles also get gunky super easily

I agree with ^ and if you want more info, autumn grace, the pig room, little adventurers and guinea pig jungle are all great sources :)

Hi there Kikya, that’s great!

I recommend joining the Guinea Pig Forum if you haven’t already. There are plenty of informative YouTube channels for any extra information.

Good luck with your new piggies. <3

I agree with what others have said above, definitely check out those sources! They provide some great information.

Make sure that they have an endless supply of hay, super important to them and they should always have access to it. Fresh, clean water like with other animals. LOTS of poops will be generated, so be prepared for that. My brain is kind of blanking on GP information right now haha, but definitely browse some of those sources.

Best of luck! :)

we have guinea pigs!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with the others, giv ethem hay 24/7, keep their cage clean cos they are poopy poopy animals. also not too many pellets as they are high in calcium, and give them veg every day (unless the owner says otherwise) and just make sure they look healthy!
