This doesn’t seem too ethical to me:

I think it probably takes purposeful breeding to get “entire colonies” (did you see the plural?) ready for re-homing.  That’s a lot of mice. I can understand if they had a large group of females and then they added a male that they thought was neutered but wasn’t; however, this seems rather suspicious.
I would probably ask them questions like “I can’t imagine taking care of so many mice! How do you do it?”

If their answer is something like “I can’t quite understand how I’m taking care of them either! It was the result of an accidental litter. I’m going to have to make sure to double-check whenever someone says that a mouse is female. I don’t want to make that mistake again!” Then you have found someone good.
If they answer with “Taking care of mice isn’t actually that hard. Anyone can do it! They are compact animals who are willing to eat anything, and they love attention. They’re beginner pets, so you don’t need to worry about difficult care. These mice will love you no matter what! You can buy my single mice for $5 or spend $10-20 for a full colony!” Then I wouldn’t really say that they are ethical.

The difficult thing is that we don’t even know that those are their cages; I put my old hamster in a temporary cage for a photoshoot sometimes so she wouldn’t run into her hideout.

I hope this helps

If they are truly accidental litters that happened to a pet owner it is probably fine by anyone's standards to adopt some. I wouldn't even have a problem with paying a reasonable amount in a genuine accidental litter situation since a pet owner who ended up with accidental litters has probably had additional expenses which may have been hard for them to afford.

However some people will lie and say litters are accidental when they aren't. The use of "pet quality" in the advert makes me a little iffy because that's a phrase used by breeders. Personally if I were thinking of buying from this person I would ask for more information on how these accidental litters came about. Did they buy a group of females and one turned out to be male? Or are they a breeder who mis-sexed some mice or didn't separate them soon enough? Personally in the latter case I would be holding them to the same standard as any other breeder I were thinking of buying from, notwithstanding the litters being "accidental". Even an ethical breeder might possibly make a mistake leading to an accidental litter but multiple accidental litters would make me suspicious. An ethical breeder shouldn't be making that mistakes.

The mice are free for reference, so would I be supporting an unethical breeder or feeder?

If I screenshot the images it’s more or less the same as a link and I think it was described all right?

Thank you guys, too! If we decide to get in contact I’ll ask these questions :)

Thanks! I wasn’t 100% sure :)
