I'm thinking of not getting any fish (so I don't need to get a larger tank, because tanks are so expensive, $90 for a 10 gal and lid is the cheapest I can find) and maybe just doing a small aquascape with no fish in it...but I don't know if it'll work because the only tank I found at home was a 2.5 gal because my 5 gal broke. Any suggestions?

That's what I'm doing!

An only plant tank and the only animals in it are snails and possibly shrimp.

If you really want an aquatic animal you could do snails, shrimp, aquatic isopods, and a gazzilion more I forgot the name of lol

My fave pleco is the starlight pleco or the longfin blue eye lemon bristlenose pleco.
