My dog has a large hard bump on him. I have been researching about it and most of the time everything says tumor. For a little bit more detail, it is on his back leg, where the leg and body connect, and he is seven years old. I don't know if I should call the vet or see if it ggoes away.

Hello! I would see a vet either way. My dog is 4 years old and gets bumps on her back and face often, but they are very small. We took her to the vet and he said that the type of bumps that she gets are genetic and harmless. He extracts them but they always come back so we have him extract them every once in a while. However these bumps are very small and oddly shaped (like horns sometimes) and you seem to be describing something else. Even if your dogs bump did fit my description i would still take him to the vet, its better safe then sorry. Hope this helps ![]()

Any growth should be seen by a vet. Few "go away on their own" and some may become incurable the longer you wait to be seen.
