About 4 hours ago, we found a bird in our parking lot on our way back, it it's fairly small, and doesn't look like it has all its feathers, it also seems to have a red gash on the back of its neck and a peck wound on its face. We put it in a box and brought it back. We weren't sure what to do, so we took it back down to where we found it to see if any mother bird would come for it, or if it could fly away on its own. Instead, it just slept there, when it did come out of the box it went towards the drain. So we brought it back again, so far it can't seem to get out of a roughly 12cm tall box. We have it in the balcony with the cover partially on, as it seemed to have been comfortable outside, perhaps since it was sunny out. But the sun is setting soon so we'll probably have to bring it in, I'm not sure if it has eaten and if we should give it water. We've tried searching for bird rehabs around our area, only one we found didn't pick up, and according to Google they won't be open till Monday. We've called several vets, the one we usually go to didn't pick up at all, another said they don't take in any birds and can't recommend anyone.

What should we do with it? We were thinking of nursing it back to health and hopefully it'll be able to takeoff on its own after that, but from reading online, it seems it's a difficult task. Finding a rehab for it would be good too but we can't find any, we're in Malaysia.

did you  handle it or pet it, thats really bad

it does not have to be a bird rehab, just a wildlife rehab

you can check out this to find the type: https://www.malaysia-wildlife-and-nature.com/malaysian-birds-gallery.html

it looks like some sort of crow or robin? maybe a Oriental magpie robin or brown strike?

We've been looking for those too, but can't seem to find many, if any, the one we did find didn't answer their phone, and won't be open till Monday.

We didn't pet it, but we did handle it to move it to the box, we took it back out to see if maybe it had recovered from shock or anything, but it didn't do anything, other than walk towards a drain when it decided to move.

As of now it is sleeping in a closed shoe box with holes on top, we gave it some sunflower seeds and flex seeds, a bit of carrot and bokchoy, not sure if it has eaten, or if we should give it water.

Doesn't seem like there is any real way to contact them other than leaving an email, and I feel like the email won't get a reply, or an automated one. I also can't find anything on them taking in animals like these.

ok, i think you COULD keep it alive untill Monday, dont feel bad if it died, it wouldent of been you falt

about healing the wound: but some flour over it to help the blood from stopping, were gloves when your doing this, just the flour should help it heal.

food: boil some cows or goat milk, then feed through a sringe. are you able to buy/find earthworms? if so, you can cut it up into tiny pecies and let it eat it him/herself. get a small dish, and put water in it, if s/he does not dink it him/herself, then give it to him/her with a sringe

housing: you shoebox should look like this (and replace the towel with a soft blaket:

Spoiler

Currently its wounds seem to have dried up, at least the one on its face, its currently 2am so we can't get anything at the moment, it is also currently asleep. It may possibly be a Pigeon. I've filled his place with alot of crumpled toilet paper, closed the box with some holes at the top.

We have normal human powder milk, we also have box milk, will that do? Should we bother it and wake it up now?

You could look for a wildlife or bird rehab group on Facebook. They will have experts who can tell you what to do. From a quick search I found this one: Wildlife Rehab and Advice | Facebook

Update: Managed to get it strawberry and banana baby food, alot of places didn't seem to sell, and this was the only one.

It seemed to have been quite okay, and after a bit, got the hang of it and started opening its mouth after being held in a specific position. Fed it about 2.5ml, not sure how much to feed it or how often though.
