So as you may or may not know, in the next year or two I plan to get a pair of two bonded pair males. My question is though, what is the correct amount of space? I heard that a 2x4 is good, but I don't know if that estimate is old or what.

Edit: The most I can do is a 53x48, I also can't have an outdoor hutch due to the grass being treated and where I live other crafty creatures like rats, raccoons, and ect. live quite near us.

Thanks in advance!

The correct amount of space is as much as you can offer, but the widely and currently accepted minimum is 2x4ft for a pair. Boars do better with more and people tend to suggest a minimum of 2x6ft for them. If 53 by 48 is in inches it sounds good since it's double the recommended minimum.
