rabbits can be a good choice! if you want them, a few things to note below
- 8 sq ft minimum per rabbit, 16 sq ft recommended. good enclosures are dog xpens (at least 36" high), bunny rooms or free roaming
- must live in pairs minus the few exceptions. i'd recommend adopting a bonded pair as it's much easier.
- unlimited hay, 1 cup of veggies per 2lb of body weight, water from a bowl
- 101rabbits on yt is great!
- need multiple hideouts, chew toys and sources of enrichment. binkybunny.com and 101rabbits.com are great shops!
- active bunny forums- rabbitsonline.net and binkybunny.com/forum
Bunnies live fairly long compared to hamters. The thing is, they need tons of room and if you don't litter-box train them, then their poop will get everywhere.
bunnies will actually not poop all over the place
they prefer to use only one corner of their space, and all poop/pee out of that corner will only be territorial, which can be fixed by neuturing/spaying the rabbit
