Here is the petition link: http://chng.it/KwnbfWB2 The channel DIY Hamster Maze is putting hamsters and other animals in harms way; this hast to stop! This video is a prime example of what this channel contains: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjElEwDlzjY This video shows a hamster be put threw a harmful maze, which contains live crabs. The hamster has to climb over live crabs to continue threw the maze. The hamster also falls in a pit of foam balls, and then struggles greatly getting out.  This channel is a prime example of what not to treat a hamster like. These videos are targeted to kids, which sets an example of something that they should do with their pet. Together we can take down this cruel channel, and stop the harming of animals.

I definitely worded this badly, and overstepped. For that sorry. I still do stand by what I said, however, even if I said it in a wrong way or shouldn’t have said it at all. I do not support or defend animal abuse, and I genuinely don’t feel like being reminded post very time i view my content. Again, I’m sorry to the OP.

Thank you for your concern! I understand it might be against forum rules, but I am not telling people to say its bad. I am simply informing people on how this channel treats their hamsters. It might not be violent, but it could lead to it being violent if the crab got ahold of the hamster. The crabs come later in the video. If you do change your mind, here is the fixed link! http://chng.it/KwnbfWB2

Posting links to other places to shame them (or say its bad) is against forum rules, as it can be incredibly offensive if that person were to see it. or someone didn't know its unsafe.

The definition of abuse (relating to animals) is 'treat (a person or an animal) with cruelty or violence, especially repeatedly or regularly'.

So yes, they do it repeatedly. But its not violent. Yes, its stressful and wrong. But I'm not sure if I would completely call it abuse. I also didn't see any live crabs.

The videos contain a disclaimer that no animals are harmed and to 'not try it at home'. I disagree with this and it sounds like you would as well.

Many people have tried to make petitions, but just getting a lot of signiatures (the link dosen't work as well) won't do much. Perhaps write a kind email informing those channels why its unsafe, without saying its cruel outright? Why the disclaimer dosen't 100% work? Even if this person didn't know, wording it as animal abuse can hurt quite a bit.

I am very sorry they must have taken it out, here is the full video:  look around 7:06

By live crabs do you mean around 6:20?

Those are fake, cardboard lobsters, I believe. The claws cant actually snap shut and they seem to be props more than anything.

Even if its not your intention, its still the same concept. Linking ___ channel and saying '____ is putting hamsters in harms way'  and 'Together we can take down this cruel channel' can have the exact same effect as saying '____ is an animal abuser' or 'Look at how bad _____ is treating there pets'. Informing someone someone is doing something badly can do the same thing no matter how its worded. I genuinely don't think you meant to come off as this, but I personally feel it goes with the rules so I wanted to say something :)

If you use this forum, your more or less promising to conform by forum rules, just like by going to a certain school, you may have special rules for it.

Even 100 signs won't make them need to take down the channel, and you can always contact them rather than try to group people to 'take them down'.

While this isn't directly shaming or ranting, and it is posted with the intention to help, your calling it abuse in the title/description and adding video links.

If you look at the actual petition, it says nothing about abuse. The only "abuse" word, is found in the title of this topic, if you would like me to change that; I would be happy. My goal is very bigger than 100 signatures. I will wait until, I am told to take it down by a forum mod/admin if it is a problem. Yes, the petition is intended to help, is that a problem? I am not hating on them, I have said nothing of the nature of "They are abusing their animals" "Their bad people" I simply said that are putting them in harms way.

Even so, I am not shaming them. I am simply addressing how they are using these animals for views, while putting them in the way of harm.

Look at this video (I time stamped) https://youtu.be/J5ytp2dq7-M?t=222

They have many videos like that, this part is even worse, They put a camera on a real life crab. then use the REAL crab to corner the hamster and push and pull the crab to scare the hamster. https://youtu.be/J5ytp2dq7-M?t=232

Everything this channel does is 100% abuse and I have no idea how a person who is into real hamster care would think this is okay or defend it at all. that is crazy to me! Hamsters are not toys and not to be played with. and you should never mix a hamster and any other animal together for any reason!

Purposely doing anything like that is cruel and abuse 100% no ifs ands or butts.

to OP:

I came across this hamster channel last year and saw this stuff and hated it, Sadly there is nothing you can do other then report it to youtube but youtube does not seem to care. There is this other channel where a lady plays with and eats live seafood. Like she will eat live jellyfish and squid, she will soak live stuff in sauces and hit them and do very bad things to live fish then eat them live and youtube does not care either. its all very cruel.

A petition will probably do nothing as a petition is not a legal document and no matter how many people sign it there is no law or person who can stop it other then youtube or the person making the videos

Sure the petition might get youtube to notice it but youtube doesn't seem to shut down channels unless there is lawsuits or legal action against that channel then youtube will delete it. Like there was a channel that posted videos of them killing cats and youtube never deleted it but they were reported for like 5 years, Then one day people online found who the channel owner was and they got arrested, only after they got arrested did youtube delete the channel.

Hi,

my brother actually reported that video as animal abuse so they may have told them to take that out.

I don't think the OP mean't any harm. They did have live crabs, Styrofoam balls, and platys in balls the size of golf balls. And I keep platies in a large  tank. While it is animal abuse I don't believe you should say"HEY LOOK THESE PEOPLE ARE ABUSING THEIR ANIMALS" they may not know and it is unlikely they will change it with a petition.

Me and my parents signed this, however it's not adding on. I hope it loads up soon.

I know that it may not make a difference but I sure hope it does.
