In my personal opinion, spaying and neutering cats improves their health, temperment, and stops overpopulation of cats. I know this is a very debated topic but I'm just curious to see what members on this forum think about spaying and neutering cats. I would also like to note that I do not have cats myself but really want to adopt a female black cat in the future!

Okay I’m honestly curious too :scratchchin:

I’m going to follow but I’m suspecting it’s good? I would say spaying/neutering would just help them be less temperamental but I can’t be sure. Followed for more!!

Yes, I couldn't agree more! I think it's so sad how many homeless and feral cats are out there, getting hit by cars and killed by wild animals, just bc people won't spay and neuter their cats, and let them have litter after litter. It doesn't take away from their health: in fact it can help them to live longer, healthier lives, and prevents cancer. So by all means, please spay/neuter your cats! :)

Thousands of cats are euthanized every year because there are too many to rehome. If you choose not to spay/neuter your cat, take responsibility by keeping your cat inside, on your property. Don't let your decision cause problems for other people and other cats.

I agree! However, some people say that their pets have the right to not be spayed/neutered, I'm just curious to hear everyone's opinions!

IMO it's kinda like the anti-vaccers thing... The benefits for spaying and vaccinating are sky-high, yet people will always find a way to say that it's bad..

When I had a cat, we neutered him because it's the right thing to do.

Please, vaccinate your children, and neuter your cats.

An unfixed pet is a wandering pet. It does them zero good to be run over by a car. So basically, you have to keep them inside your house. That means no dog parks or group training sessions. This might work for a cat, but a dog would lose a lot of opportunities to be a dog.
