Hello Equestrians!

I thought i'd make this Topic so that all Equestrians on HH can communicate and talk about their disciplines, funny stories, experiences and everything to do with Equestrianism!

Feel free to talk about anything that has to do with Equestrianism. Just remember to not talk about to sensitive of topics, or offensive stuff.

You can also put in pictures of your horses or whatever! Enjoy :)

'' NOT A SPORT ''

'' It's Easy ''

'' You just sit there ''

'' You are silly ''

They all say to me. They say that my sport isn't a sport, and undermine my struggles and hardships because they think it's ''EASY''.

Our sport is underminded and misunderstood because no one understands it. We break our bones, tear our muscles, get bitten, get kicked and we fall 6 feet down onto hard surfaces, but we get back on, We ride at 55 mph at a solid obstacle, or perform a delicate dance with our partner.

Our passion for our sport runs deep, And we always get back on and continue despite all the blood, sweat and tears that goes into it. Our sport truely is something special as we create a deep bond with such an unpredictable animal that doesn't speak our language. In other sports a mistake can cost 2 points, in ours it can cost 2 lives. We are in a team with an animal that weighs 1200 pounds and that can decide to throw you off in any moment.

There is a constant danger when you get onto that saddle, be it a western or english saddle. We live for our sport, Our sport is a huge part of our lives. We work hard to just jump a few foot jump, To perform a traver or a piaffe or  to weave around barrels.

Olympic riders look like they do nothing, that means they do it right. We make it look effortless and flaweless, but i want to ask them:

''Would you do this? Would you ride a unpredictable animal of 1200 pounds, and work with it in a team? Would you ride even with the constant dangers and threats? Would you put ALL the time and effort, blood, sweat, and tears into your sport like we do?''

Thats why i'm proud to say i'm an equestrian.

I’m not exactly an equestrian but I take riding lessons and I absolutely love horses. I wish I could own a horse but I can’t for several reasons. I’m currently riding a really cute horse named bro. He bites. Last year the old horse I used to ride passed away from a stroke the day after I had last seen him. It was rlly sad. My barn uses birch shavings as substrate, which I’m very allergic too so I don’t have to clean stalls. Just groom, feed and tack and stuff.
