Ok so I'm just posting this under the "other exotics" topic since there's no specific topic about squirrels. #forgotten :(
Anyways, I just wanted to share with y'all this really interesting thing that happened today. So there's this squirrel that always comes over for food; not a pet squirrel, a wild squirrel that comes around often. I named the squirrel Ogo, pronounced "Ojo." Ogo started coming way back in June/July 2020...I left out some food for the squirrels and there was this one squirrel that kept coming. It took all of the food that I put out. Since then, that same squirrel kept coming so I eventually named it Ogo. There were actually 2 other squirrels that were one of "the usuals" who would always come for food. But those two stopped coming a while ago...Ogo is the only one that still comes to this day. ;-;
Now onto the actual story: Today, Ogo came (for the first time in several days. I was worried about Ogo) and I fed Ogo like usual. So over all this time, Ogo has gotten tame...and when I say tame, I mean like REALLY tame. I can hand feed Ogo now and Ogo will literally come right up to the door. Or when I am outside, Ogo will recognize me and come right up to me. I know, so tame for a wild squirrel! Ogo has tried to get into the house several times already, but this time Ogo succeeded. I ran out of food to give Ogo, but of course Ogo wanted more. So Ogo kept begging for more, but I didn't have any more food left. This time ,Ogo was very desperate and......................................................entered the house.
I tried to stop Ogo multiple times, but this time Ogo succeeded. So Ogo walked into the house and I could not believe this was happening...the first time a squirrel came into our house lolll. The funny thing was that Ogo just calmly walked in as if that was part of his/her daily routine. No running, climbing or anything, just calmly walking around and exploring the house. I was nervous of course because Ogo could do anything in there...and I could get in a LOT of trouble. But thankfully, I left the door wide open and Ogo eventually found the exit and ran out. It only lasted for like less than a minute. Wow.
Btw, if you don't like squirrels or do not support the idea of feeding wild squirrels, please don't attack me. Thanks!
If you're wondering what I give Ogo, I currently give him/her walnuts and pecans; I would never give Ogo/any wild animal junk food, don't worry. And you can see pictures of Ogo on my profile page!
