WOAHHH the votes are really close! I honestly thought there would be more cat votes since they are the second place for the most kept pet thing but seems like a lot of people want to adopt rabbits for some reasons that are really nice and humble of them :)

hm, guess it just depends on the cat's personality! I do prefer more clingy pets to, and I feel like we made a "bond" sort of thing, but I kind of wish I can foster both animals (not together) but just to feel how the're like

Yeah! I think a cat would be great for you, bunnies aren’t clingy I don’t think.

Its not “a lot”, stray cats often group together or have mini groups because it works better, but off there are the few that don’t. Ive had 1 sibling and 2 non sibling groups that have worked great, and honestly better then humen interaction

I don’t think that happens... yes, there are feral cat groups, but a lot of them are solitary, because cats are territorial and don’t like sharing food and stuff. It is a lot actually, almost half the cats I’ve met are solitary like that, maybe even more *shrug*

That's what my parents say, but I'm still deciding but it's most likely I will get no it's a 50 50 for both hehe it's to hardddd

here's a story that I just thought of and there is no reason to read it

Spoiler

How do you know their solitary? Are they being kept with other cats? Maybe it’s just the wrong cat for them to be with? All the benifits I see completely outweighs the negitive

Because we have tons of cats plus feral cats plus stray cats plus the neighbors cats etc. and she HATES all of them. Yeah, she’s being kept with one of my cats and they’ve lived together for 7 years and barely get along.

I don’t think cats need to be kept together, unless they actually like being kept together then sure you can keep them together. I personally think dogs need to be in pairs, not cats though.

Cats as a general species are solitary. But our domestic cats have been living with humans for so long at this point that they've learned to tolerate, and sometimes enjoy, same-species interaction. I would say the majority of cats can live together, and provide enrichment for each other, but very few need other cats. Most cats do just fine on their own. Then you have the other side of the spectrum, cats who hate, or barely tolerate, other cats. Many cats will fight to the death, even after they've been fixed.

I don't think anyone can recommend either way without meeting the cats. There's such a wide range of cat personalities, there isn't one answer.

sorry, i would disagree with the bunny part.

Rabbits can have EXTREMELY close bond with humans or other animals they love. Escpecially if not bonded with another rabbit, your bunny will most likely be very clingy. For example, my bun will stand on her hind feet, look for me when she hears my voice and I'm not there. She'll try to jump onto me to prevent me from leaving the house. But rabbits' personalities differ, but in the end, they are generally very loving and clingy to ones they like

I haven't had either, but I'm voting bunnies because cats can be jerks. I suppose bunnies can be jerks too, though they seem easier to contain with a baby gate, rather than a cat that might ambush you from on top of the fridge. But bunnies seem to have more health issues (I could be wrong - haven't in-depth researched them, but I follow a number of animal rescues). The shelter here always has cats, dogs, and rabbits.

It's probably the cutest poll I've ever seen. Only cats have always lived in my home, and I haven't had a pet in the last two years. I want to get a rabbit, but I don't know much about taking care of them. Also, I'm not sure if it's OK to let him run around the yard. Neighbor's cats climb into my yard and cause me a lot of trouble. I read a lot about how to get rid of cats in the garden. But I think that such methods can also infect a rabbit. Will it be useful to leave the rabbit exclusively at home and not let it out?
