Hi <3

I don't know much about birds but I don't think their care was the best..

I don't have any pictures, I apologize but I can try my best to describe it :)

I tried to look up the cage but I couldn't find the exact one.
Anyways, he had one budgie (I thought they were social animals? But okay)

And he was living in a cage which looked like a 10 gallon tank but instead of glass, it was bars. It seemed a lot like a critter-trail but for a bird.

Was this good care? I honestly don't think it's really good :((
The bird had a blue cup for food stuck to the bars and the cage height was about slightly taller than the bird's height

Any tips for him? I do know that this is his business but I can't really stop myself from animal care :(

Hopefully, I'm kind of sure it was for Christmas or his birthday

I'm going to try and contact him, he just showed it off in the middle of class, but I know a way on how to get his gmail because there is this list of them ;-;

I hope he doesn't think I'm a stalker/weirdo

And he was living in a cage which looked like a 10 gallon tank but instead of glass, it was bars. It seemed a lot like a critter-trail but for a bird. That sounds like a Vision-Cage. Vision-Cages are good, but only if they're big enough. A ten gallon sized cage doesn't sound big enough imo, when I had budgies they had something the size of a single CN, and they still wanted more. A small cage might be ok if they bird only spends the night in the cage, and the rest of the time flying around.

Was this good care? I honestly don't think it's really good :(( I think it could of been good if they let the bird out all the time, but if not, then it probably wasn't the best.
The bird had a blue cup for food stuck to the bars and the cage height was about slightly taller than the bird's height Doesn't sound too great.

Any tips for him? I do know that this is his business but I can't really stop myself from animal care :( There are a few good YT channels you can send him

It wasnt good care. Budgies are social birds, and they need large eclosures. (about 5ft high 3ft wide 4 ft long)

I'll start bombarding him with questions but it was a more rounder shape than those square Vision Cages? I should have mentioned that sorry like a vertical tank I guess. Is ElleAndTheBirds a good channel?

thank you, will say that to him, it won't be weird if I just start saying like,
Hi,

I know you're wondering why and how I got your gmail but about your bird. I don't think it's the right care and they should be in pairs. Here are some videos that can help you :)

*and then list some videos*

would that just creep him out...or?

Hello! :)

Are you sure that wasn’t just some sort of travel carrier he put the budgie in so that he could show the class? Did he say he had only one bird, or did he just show the one bird? With the limited information you’ve given us, it just seems to me you’re making a lot of assumptions. :)

i dont know....just say
hi, i heard from someone that you own a pet bird! i'm a person that really cares about pet health, so do you mind sending some pictures of your full enclosure? i just want to know so i can help you improve your set up if it doesn't provide everything you should have, and so your bird can have the best life possible!

im not sure...but i said that to someone on insta about their hamster cage, and now we've been texting back and forth, and i convinced her to get bigger cage, wheel, more bedding, etc. so i hope this helps!

Does your classmate WANT help with his bird? Otherwise, you're right, it's not really any of your business and bombarding him with info/questions is likely to make him defensive, not receptive to your ideas. Asking for critiques on other people's care without their knowledge isn't really ok. How would you feel if someone posted something like this about your pet care?

oh no. this hurts my heart. thank you for trying to help but sadly the classmate will probably not listen. but you should recommend they watch "elleandthebirds" which is a reliable youtube channel about bird care. to start with i would recommend he/she watch  also bird diet and taming/training.
