I was casually looking on kijiji in my area and I found this add for 2 male dwarf hamsters. It says that “they must be sold together” BUT THEY ARE HOUSING A HYBRID AND A ROBO IN THE SAME CAGE!!!!!!!!

I want to rescue these hams *so badly* and give them separate cages and lots of love... but unfortunately that’s not possible I just don’t have the space... what should I do? I honestly feel like contacting this ad and being like “hey, these hamsters should really be housed separately!”

Guys what should I do?

I would tell them that hamsters of different species can NOT live together, and I would show her some articles. I would be humble about it, so they don't get defensive.

I would recommend sharing this ad in a local rehoming group on Facebook (or something similar) if you are able. I'm a member of a couple rehoming groups for my state and a neighboring state and I've shared multiple ads with a lot of luck. I've helped hamsters find good homes that way. Hopefully these hamsters find great homes!

Oh my goodness, this is terrible . I would show this ad to any social media website, maybe someone will want to buy them, and then give them large separate enclosures! You should also contact the seller, and tell them that housing 2 hamsters is not appropriate hamster care.. I wish people would stop doing this, it makes me so sad! HAMSTERS DESERVE MORE AND BETTER!
