Smelly yellow discharge

My hamster is a female teddy bear hamster that has been having a smelly thick yellow discharge coming from what i suppose is her vagina. it looked swollena nd sad to say i was trying to calm her down since she is skittish and when i put prssure in that area it kept coming out...it's grosss and smells horrid??? what is happening to her????

im not sure but i think your hamster is in pain dont put pressure for a while

sounds like some sort of infection. I hope someone here will have better answers with some help for you and your hammy!

i think its just pee...my hamter is a female short hair and her pee is an opaque yellowish color...but idk about the swolleness

i think this is definitely a situation for the vet :worried: because some serious infections, including something called "pyometra," have the symptoms you list. if left untreated, pyometra will kill your hamster~~ that's why you have to get to a vet for antibiotics or whatever else you might need to do.
