I know there is a lot of rock mistreatment and misinformation out there, so I figured I should share my master list so that ALL HH members will give there Rocks proper care.

General Care-

"The Care And Training Of Your Pet Rock"'

Basic guide to Rock Breeds

Nutrition-

'The Care And Feeding Of A Pet Rock In 4 Easy Steps"

Forums/Youtube Channels/Social-

Pet Rock Club

Good Care Videos-

Video's to show your rock-

*NOTE-Taking your rocks outside is not recomended

Sorry this isn't much info, but good rock care is hard to find. If you have any questions about proper rock care, please ask via PM or in the Replies, and I'll do my best to help you and your rock. If you believe your rock may be sick, especially if they feel heavy, are very quiet, and are lethargic (these are signs of the deadly Rock Bottom, which should be avoided at all costs), PLEASE contact a specialized exotic rock vet for treatment.

Why do I feel so guilty for the rocks in Cotton's cage :crybuckets:

How can I improve their care?

I forgot to link this! I'll add it. I personally don't have an account, but it's the best place for updated rock care and is so friendly! :)

Do they have a large space to roam? Whats there diet? Do they ever scuffle? Does Cotton every nibble/step on them? Rocks and Hamsters can safely co-hab,but you need to be VERY careful.

I would make sure there large enough to handle being used as a seat, and maybe give them a little bit of sand or herbs in case they get hungry as they tend to eat once every 10-20 years or so :)

It sounds like your doing great! Just wastch out for any scuffles, and be careful with different rock species as well as your hamster. You may find these helpful-

Depends on the rock, I own both a social species and anit-social species. My lava rock hates other rocks though loves me :)

Depends on the species. Larger rocks do best alone but can be in pairs or groups if your careful. Sandstone should be alone most of the time as they tend to have awful personalities, and round pebbles are great for co - habbing. If you have medium rocks or small rocks I would keep them together, but you may need to keep another place on hand in case they fight, but its uncommon with smaller rocks. Large stone that are smooth are good in pairs, too.

They eat and drink once every 10-20 years (larger ones closer to 10), so they poop and pee very little. So, I would say every 10 years or so. If you have them with another animal, they may begin to smell from them peeing on them. In that case I would give them a bath, but if the behavior continues smaller rocks may need a new home and large rocks may get aggresive, but it depends on the individual.  If you find a lot of poo's your rock may have hit Rock Bottom and need vet care, but this shouldn't happen if they have good care and genes.

What will happen if I put two solitary ones together? Will they kill each other?
