So, I keep mealworms for my Chester and toothless to eat (toothless only gets them like once every other week). I keep my mealworms in a small bin cage that I made. I really want to start getting some mealworm beetles but it isn’t happening...

Questions
Can I use eco earth for their bedding? (How dry?)
What is the best food for them?
Can mini mealworms breed?
How do I get them to pupate?
How long should it take before they pupate?
Is 250 enough for a breeding colony?
How long are they in the pupa for?
I have had them as worms for like 2 months. Is that normal? Should they have pupated already?
I heard that giant mealworms are treated with juvenile mealworm DNA or something, that causes them to not pupate-Is this true?

Thanks for answering my questions!

We did it in school, but I doubt we did it well. For substrate and food they had corn flakes -_-

I think Leapard Gecko has some good vids on it :)

I was replacing their bedding with eco earth, and I found a pupae! Only one though. Do I need to house it separately?
Here is their setup: 8908-D910-4-C7-B-49-DC-A1-F4-8-FC7-F1-A4

Um ;-;

I'm not sure, but I feel like it could be improved

But idk tbh

I think the best thing you can do is talk to whoever breeds the mealworms you get. They could give some great advice :)

That's what my dad did for Dubia Roaches.

Look up vids too :D

I got them from a pet shop and they don’t breed them themselves. ;-;
The sponge is there, because I soak it water and that is their water source, along with veggies, so they don’t drown.
What can I do to improve it? Maybe add a toilet paper tube? Idk. They hide underneath the terracotta saucer. They have eco earth as substrate.

I don’t really want toothless eating Cheerios, even if it is indirect. How long will it be until the pupae hatches?

I know. I just don’t want an Axolotl eating Cheerios, it doesn’t sound right. (The very reason I don’t feed them gerber puffs anymore) Idk. I also spent like 30 minutes picking them out of their old bedding...
should I move the pupae to its own enclosure?

(Notice I changed your name in the quote!)
