Hello!

I know upgrading might sound like a no-brainer, but hear me out. I have one senior rat, two middle-aged/soon-to-be-senior rats, and three young rats. I currently have a double Critter Nation and I'd like to get a third unit soon, but I'm worried about my senior rats. A six foot cage wouldn't be too easy for them to navigate, but I know my younger rats would love it. One of my boys has a tumor which limits his mobility, so I would worry about that as well. I crowd their cage, and they have plenty of ways to get from A to B, but my older boys still have a hard time getting around, and I don't want to make their lives harder.

Sooooo...............

Do you think I should upgrade?

If I were you, I would upgrade it but keep food and water in an area that's easiest to access near the center of the cage. I would try to keep some huts and comfier items on the ground so that the senior rats don't have to climb as much to get around. That way, the young rats get more space and the senior rats are still able to access necessities and live comfortably.

I think it could be great if you upgrade! But maybe have multiple like water points etc. Have important stuff where they could always access it if you are worried about them tryna get around :)

Like ^^ said, if you could move down stuff such as food and water to the bottom floor, some toys, etc. that would be perfect! Upgrading is always a good choice! Just make sure your elder/middle ages rats have plenty of toys, hides, hammocks, and food! :D

I would probably upgrade to a triple critter nation, but have the lowest level have the most food and water as well as a few ramps to the other levels.

i would say upgrade. just make sure you have multiple food and water bowls spread around the cage.
