Hi guys! I would like to own a salamander in the near future, and I have a lot of questions...

1. Are there any salamanders that can live in both water and land?

2. What do they eat?

3. How do I set up their tank?

4. For the plants, live or fake?

5. Are their any proper salamander care channels on yt? If so, pls leave a link.

Thanks!

1: idk, but,Like, you COULD do alpine newts...
2: salamanders eat buggies
3: depends on the species
4: I’d say live, but for aquatic ones, they could get easily uprooted... I use fake for my axolotl for that very reason
5: I have no clue...

1. Well, newts kind of do, but it depends,

2. Earthworms, slugs, crickets, wax worms, etc.

3. For terrestrial sals, I used five inches of moist eco earth (you should be able to squeeze it so it holds its shape but no water leaks out) cork bark, actual bark, sanitized rocks and branches, fake plants, caves and a water dish shallow enough so that they can’t drown but large enough to soak in.

4. Either works. I prefer fake but live is much appreciated and helps hold in humidity.

5. Snake Discovery has some salamander vids. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tHOuPOdTfYE
I don’t really know of any other tubers that keep them.

Okay... hehe.

I changed my mind (again LOL!) to an African Dwarf frog bc I've had one before, and their bites don't hurt. (Yes, I've been bitten bye one...)

So, thanks anyway!  :veryhappy:

Sorry for the confusion.

Newts are a type of species that are aquatic and and

They eat bugs

You need dirt, hides like a coconut, wood, plants, and depending on the type, a large water area they can lay in and drink

100% LIVE plants

I dont know
