I have a couple questions as I’m thinking of getting a couple budgies!

  1. What is the minimum size for 2 budgies?
  2. Do budgies need cuttlebones?
  3. What are some good toys for budgies that can be found on amazon/petsmart/petco?
  4. How loud are budgies?
  5. Can they learn their names?
  6. How much play time do they need a day?
  7. Can I let them fly around my room at day?
  8. Should I put mirrors in their cage?
  9. What is the best budgie cage?
  10. How long do they live?

1- it depends on their wingspan, youre going to want to buy a flight cage, which isn't a tall cage, but a lengthy one, for one budgie a 18"x20"x20" is recommended, but you're going to have 2 so the bigger is always better.

2-cuttlebones aren't too important, sometimes they over consume them causing health problems, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

4-they are really really loud

5-yes they can, they are really intelligent little creatures.

6- im assuming by playtime you mean out of cage time? I personally take my birds out for 6+ hours, but 3+ is recommended per day.

7- yes you can, just be sure there arent any places they could go behind or get stuck in, basically any hazardous things.

8-no, mirrors make them imagine that its their mate, and it really frustrates them and makes them hormonal, this goes for any type of bird.

9-im not sure, there are a lot of good ones.

10- 5-10 yrs.

also, I wouldn't give them any nesting material, it makes the female think that she needs to lay an egg, which then turns into a really bad situation if she tries to push basically nothing out, it also makes them hormonal too. and its okay for them to mate and lay eggs, just as soon as they do lay, take the eggs boil them and put them back, they're going to get bored eventually then you can take it out.

they are really hard to tame especially in pairs, so be patient.

I would recommend joining a forum called avianavenue, im on that forum and everyone is really helpful, but you shouldn't be expecting to see people your age, everyone there is 20+ yrs old, there are a couple of teens, but yeah! I hope this helped!
