So, one day my hammy Bumble decided to climb on top of his hide, chew through the mesh lid of his tank, climb out through the hole and escape onto the table, where he then apparently launched himself off the table which and went exploring.
I found the hole, with pieces of his fur stuck to it, when I went to look for him, as I'd noticed that he wasn't up and about at his normal time. Naturally, I was horrified, and immediately me and my family went searching everywhere. I was so scared bc our house is really big and there are so many places a hammy could hide! It could take hours to find him, and what if..we didn't? I prayed 'Please, please let us find him!" After we'd searched for like a half hour, I noticed movement in some laundry, and there, lo and behold, was Bumble, climbing on a jacket! We were so relieved and after I put him back I placed heavy dictionaries and things on top of his cage as safety measures. The whole ordeal was pretty traumatic...I mean, what if we hadn't found him and he just wandered the house until he eventually died of thirst and starvation?! Those were the thoughts going through my head.
Anyways, just wanted to share w/ you guys!
