Hey guys!! I thought I might start a new story, this one will be about the stories of little hamsters, with big stories! So here’s the prologue!
 

The Prologue

 

I opened my eyes, looked around at my cage. I saw my cheap water bottle, my 4” wire wheel, my bowl full of gross food those humans refilled everyday. No veggies, no variety, just plain disgusting pellets.

 

I sighed when I looked outside my cage and all the humans running around frantically, some were attached to weird giant wire things full of stuff, some were tied to dogs, one was even tied to a cat. I looked over at my house, it had my siblings in them. I was done being in a huge group, i wanted to run away from them and start my own life, but its too small in here, and I can’t figure out how to get out of this dumb cage.

 

I saw one of the humans run up to my cage and open it, it grabbed my food bowl and I ran back into my hide with my siblings to watch it. It grabbed my food bowl and took it out, and when it put the bowl back in it had more pellets in it, then the human tried to touch me with its paw and I stood up on my feet to sniff it, flinched a few times but it didn’t hurt me. I cuddled up against my small siblings flanks and shook a little.

 

It closed the door of the cage and walked away. I slept for a while until the sun started to set, the humans didn’t leave ‘till as late as 9pm, so it was always loud until nighttime! It was starting to get pretty dark, until the human came up to my cage AGAIN.

“That one” It opened the door and the hand went right at me! It tried to grab me and I tried to push it away, I was on my back as it started to wrap its fingers around my flank, its oily skin ruining my fur. It picked me up with its fingers wrapped around my face as it placed me in a litle to-go box! I squeaked as i tried to get it out. “Super tiny hamsters need to be in pairs or they will die, do you want to get him a friend?” Said the human, I scratched at the carrier hoping the human would say no!

 

“Its called a roborovski dwarf hamster, and they don’t need to be in pairs, i’m not risking anything like that. I will get this one hamster, and thats it. Thanks” Said the other human, then my carrier was lifted and gently rocked a little as the human walked away with me. Hopefully this will be a good human, seems like it so far but... you never know... 

 

So do you guys think I should continue?

And I'm not sure but I think her new owner is well educated on hamsters, thank god  :thumbsup:

Chapter 1: Mango’s new home

 

I had fallen asleep in my carrier, the human had placed some soft bedding in there while she took me home, so I nested into that, it made it feel a lot cozier. I woke up when the carrier was suddenly lifted, I poked my face near one of the holes and tried to look out, all I could see was blurrs of movement, then all the sudden the carrier was opened. I popped my nose out and looked around, I felt myself gently be lifted.

 

“Hello, little hamster! What should I name you...” it turned its head to across the room and looked at a orange fruit sitting on a ledge and then looked back at me, I was busy trying to burrow in her fingers! “Mango. Your name is Mango!” She said. “Your so cute!” I felt her gently pet my head, I sniffed her hand and gave her a little lick and she laughed and placed me into a cage, but this was a pretty big tank!.

 

“I know it may seem kinda small, but at least its over the bare minimum! Its 650, thats not to small for you, right?!” She said, I nodded. I don’t care, as long as i’m out of that dumb old cage those old humans kept me in! “Once your an adult, I will upgrade you, okay Mango?” She pet my head again, I flinched and sniffed her finger then wobbled away into a little log hide. 

 

Finally a good home!! It was very late for the humans to be awake, I watched as it crawled INSIDE a platform, like it lifted up part of the platform and crawled into it! (If you didn’t know, I was implying a bed) I shook my head as I watched it go limp inside the platform, It actually sleeps INSIDE platforms?

 

 I rolled my eyes and explored my tank, I looked at the food, and was blown away! It had so much variety, I stored inside my cheaks 2 sunflower seeds, 1 corn thing, some black seed, and one pellet, and as they brushed against my tongue they tasted soooo good! I looked and I had like the coolest wheel, it was big and it had little holes on it that I could crawl into! I jumped in one of the holes and started running, it was the coolest thing i’ve ever done!

 

Once I jumped out I started climbing these little ledges that my cage had in them, it was soooo fun!! I heard the human let out a loud snore, I chuckled. I ran around in my cage, getting all that energy out! After a while I got tired of playing, and the sun was starting to rise, so I stuffed some woodshavings in my cheeks and wobbled into my cork hide, then I made a nest and fell asleep in it. I’m so happy I have such a good human now...

Omg thank you guys, I didn’t even think it was that good! Chapter 3 will be up... now!

 

Chapter 3 

 

I was awoken by a loud noise, it was very loud, in the middle of the day when i’m trying to sleep! I can out to see what that racket was and saw my human. I squeaked at her to make her shut up, then the noise shut up and she walked up to the tank and put her face to the glass. “Sorry, Mango! I didn’t know music bothers you!” She said. 

 

Music? I thought. I mean, its not THAT annoying, it would be better if it WASN’T WHEN I’M SLEEPING!! I sighed, these dumb diurnal humans... the human chuckled at my anger, all the sudden I heard someone yell from another “room”. “Autumn!! Your lunch is ready, hurry up, you’ll be late for your first day of school!!” “Coming, mom!” Screamed the human, her name was “Autumn” hmm... okay!

 

Autumn had fur the color of the sun that was sitting on her head like a pony’s tail, she also had “glasses” as she calls them, and she loved to wear “scrunchies” and the color purple! I have learned a lot about her just watching her from my tank and when she takes me out of her cage! Autumn ran out of the room and was gone, I decided to take this time to go to sleep, but she didn’t come back until late... very late, the sun was starting to set!

 

I was starting to worry about her until she finally came back, I popped my head out and she greeted me, I squeaked as she opened my cage. “Ugh, school is the worst! And... never mind that, did you miss me?” I nodded. Autumn, where have you been?? I was panicing!! Ugh your such a baaad mom. I thought. “I’m sorry I was gone for so long, Mango. Sadly I will have to leave like this EVERY. SINGLE. DAY for a long time...” she frowned.

 

I nodded, I understood. She’s a good mum, i’m just a spoiled hamster!” I giggled. the human picked me up and we spent some time together! She fed me my favorite food, a peanut! She then placed me back in my cage and I wobbled into my hide... Autumn is the best mom a hammy could ask for!! he smiled as he drifted to sleep...

 

 

Sorry this one was kinda short, more will be up tomorrow!!

Speaking of having to be gone for school lol that's one perk of quarantine is I can see Tater Tott throughout the day!! (she usually comes out during my lunch break :>)

I love this!  :starry-eyed: I also had a hamster named Mango! He was my first hamster! For some reason the Mango in this story reminds me of him :)

Chapter 4

 

This can’t be happening! I screamed, but it was dark as his scream echoed through darkness, the random roborovski hamster, that looked just like me, just sitting there, dying. I watched as its breathing got more dramatic and slower, tears running down his eyes. The random hamster took on last breath...

 

“Mango! Wake up! Mango!” I could hear Autumn yell, she was freaking out. I looked around, it was late at night, I was laying on her lap, I got up and hopped off her lap, I went to run around when she grabbed me and picked me up. “Mango, what happened?!” She had tears in her eyes. “I thought you had died, you were taking such deep, shallow breaths, it scared me Mango!” She cried.

 

“Come on, Mango” she placed me in my carrier, I tried to get out. “Somethings wrong with you, we need to go to the vet, Mango!” She booped my nose to get me to stop. But i’m fine, I was just dreaming!! What was with that dream anyways?... I tried to figure out what that dream could have meant, I curled up in a little ball in the carrier and tried to sleep, the carrier swooshing and slaying around, I finally got a little sleep for a moment...

 

Sorry this chapter was sooo short, I needed to write quickly as I just got a new gecko haha!

 

Edit: I’m sorry I edited it because I was kept going from doing 3 person/pov, so I fixed that!
