I would make a topic on petmousefanciers.com, but I can’t figure out how  :rotfl:

You have to make an account (click register in the upper right). After that, go to general mouse chat, then click the white new topic button just above the sticky topics. :)

Hello,

ASFs have similar diet requirements as mice, although they can tolerate (and possibly need) higher protein.

I have been feeding mine Vitakraft Rat & Mouse food, fresh veggies, and black soldier fly larvae. The breeder used dog food as extra protein. I also give them antler horns to chew on.

I am not sure yet if my diet is optimal, but they seem decently healthy. So far my girls haven't been too destructive, but I give them a lot of activities inside of the cage.

One interesting behavior I've noticed is that they will sort their substrate. I have mine on a mixture of sphagnum, Carefresh and Timothy hay. They have been busy at work separating the spagnum from the rest.

I have African Soft Furs in a large bin cage.

They love to dig and to sleep under the substrate, but they also love to climb. They're pretty destructive with plastic and wood, but I've given them fabric hammocks and blankets and they haven't chewed them at all.

Mine have wheels. They are obsessed with them. They will often sleep in their wheels, so I have three wheels for four ASFs.
