Hi there!

I’m curious about parakeets and wondering if there are any active ones? Thanks! :)

This one is also pretty nice, but it doesn’t specialize in parakeets specifically:

Note: if you are looking into getting a bird, you need lots of time. They typically need 6-8 hours of out-of-the-cage time. They are a huge commitment, and I believe that budgies live around 8 years? If you are a minor.... That's a problem. And they cost a lot. Cages are going to be around 100-200 dollars. Are you willing to pay that much? Budgies are more flighty and are less "cuddly" than, say, a cockatiel. I highly recommend checking out the youtube channel of Live Laugh Birds. So helpful.

Now with the negatives out of the way, they can be a joy to have around. I've babysat budgies before, and they are so adorable! Just do lots of research and you'll be fine. :)

I’ve been doing a lot of research for the past two months. Even though I likely won’t be getting them I still research on their cage requirements and everything, so I did know the free roaming time and how often I would need to clean their cage, and how they are very social (and loud is an understatement). I likely won’t be getting one around now since I am a minor and parakeets can live up to 15 years. But I don’t know if that’s really a problem since I have colleges basically all around where I live. I’ve been around birds a lot, my aunt use to have three, (they were also very VERY loud.) So yeah basically I have been researching on them. :), but I was just asking for a forum since most of the, shut down and I wanted to ask some parakeet questions.
