So I would recommend getting a closed wheel because flying saucers can fling hamsters at high speeds.

Hello,

as stated above, this topic is from a year ago and replying is unnecessary, please keep that in mind next time.

Hi,

I already have a 10 inch silent runner wheel, but i’m Thinking about adding a flying saucer to my Prevue t28mcage for Chip, my dwarf hamster.

I can get a 7.25 inch or 12 inch. I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Thank you.

Jody

to be honest you should go for the bigger one because bigger the better. but i am not a fan of flying saucers because they have not protection for your hamster and you hamster can just fly of it. causing your hamster to get hurt. dwarf hamster are faster then Syrians.

Well according to Germany's hamster care, a flying saucer cannot take the place of a wheel and flying saucers are considered as unsafe. I prefer not to use flying saucers as I can use that space to put a sand bath or a lot of bedding.
