I've just read a post that drove me into rage.

An ex-petshop worker resigned because she couldn't withstand carcasses of pets met daily and uncovered the truth that many stores (especially Asia) have hamsters in a CUP before they were put in the display tank/shelf to create a fat, slow moving hamster that apparently, somehow, looks very cute to the public. Hamsters weren't given water in the cup (and there's obviously no space to), just given a piece of carrot daily. Lots of hamster couldn't bear it and commited suicide by biting themselves/ died due to stress before they were even moved into the displaying shelf.

It's such an heartbreaking news. People should really raise their awareness of those black-heaeted petshops. No one knows such tragedy is happening behind the scenes.

this is so upsetting. I can't believe how cruel people can be to animals!! And for what? just so the animals look more "aesthetically pleasing" to the customers? what about the hamster's health and safety! if people want to buy hamsters just because they're "cute", they shouldn't get them at all! they need care and love!! And the pet stores need to stop treating animals the way they do! they put their animals in such small areas, its heartbreaking! they even do unacceptable things like house syrians together in tight spaces when it shouldn't be allowed! I don't know how this is being condoned and "okay", it's honestly animal cruelty.

Please don't bring up old, sad topics. HH does not allow content like this, as it can make people angry, and has really no point to be on HH aside to upset people. Yes, petshops are cruel. But that dosen't mean we need to make people feel upset about it.
