Hey all, I've been a small pet (hamster) owner for about a year now and I'm doing market research for an idea I had. If this product were to come to market it would provide a new safe way to interact with your pet. Please answer the questions below openly and honestly. All feedback is highly valued. Thank you so much.

How important is your small pet to you and your family?

How important is exercise in the care and maintenance of your pet?

What do you think about a safe way to get your small pet outdoors on a regular basis?

How would you feel about a safe way to take your small pet for a walk akin to a dog walk?

If not, what alternate way(s) would you’d be interested in taking your small pet outdoors for guided exercise?

What features would you consider important in a product that would allow these functionalities?

How much would you pay for a “small pet walker”?

I am going to be completely blunt here and I hope you take no offense to what I am about to say. I'm going to state everything straight as it is without sugarcoating.

Of course hamsters are important to us, that's why we try to learn and research on them as much as possible. This is the reason why there are so many members on this forum.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to bring a hamster outside, in fact, doing so would endanger your hamsters life. The stress alone could cause a hamster to die. You don't know what kind of chemicals are on the ground and what your hamster will just pick up and eat. You also don't know when a bird - even a small bird - would it down and attack the hamster or a cat would jump out at it. You don't know what the temperature difference from inside to outside would do to the hamsters immune system. The dust and the dirt, even from cars would be enough to cause a respiratory infection. There is also the risk of the hamster being subjected to the weather... There is a reason why we can't leave cages in drafts, so why bring the hamster out into the wind? God forbid it suddenly starts to rain as hamster shouldn't be getting wet.

There is no benefit for the hamster to go outside. It gets its exercise from a specious cage and an upright wheel. If you want your hamster to be able to explore, a much smarter idea would be to free roam it INSIDE the house, where the hamster would be exposed to far less dangers.
