Hi all. I have a male 3 year old Cinnamon/Turquoise Green Cheek Conure.  He used to love taking baths in the sink, and would take one almost every day. But within the past 2-3 months he has been really difficult to go into the sink. And even more recently, like the past month, I haven't gotten him in the sink once for a bath. I will act like I'm doing the dishes or whatever, and he asks and chirps at the water like he used to, but when I go to ask him to step up to put it in, he runs from me. I will have him on my shoulder and run the water and he will climb down, and I will lean down to put him in (I used to get him in like that before) but now he just flies off of me. He sometimes will try to clean himself in his water dish, but it really isn't big enough, plus he sometimes puts food in there so it isn't really clean. I got a water bottle with a mist setting and have tried that but he hates it. I have no idea what to do. He is starting to smell and has begun to get dandruff. Help?

Maybe try providing a large, shallow bowl of water for him to bathe in. Or you can try putting him in the sink on a perch, maybe run the water on super low, let a little build up under him slowly. Maybe he will decide it's not so bad. He may have slipped in the sink and gotten scared, or sometimes sounds echo strangely in the sink, who knows? Maybe try a different sink or the bath tub.

I saw something about trying to get your bird to abth where you put like dandielions and washed grass into shallow water but IDK if that'd work?

I usually put him in with it empty and let it fill up to the top of his legs. I've tried with an empty sink and an already filled sink, water on and off. I will try a shallow bowl next.

Hi!  Thanks for trying to help people on this forum but we would prefer if you don't respond to old topics

The last post here was in 2018, so quite some time ago. I'm not sure if you saw it though haha, but just a reminder for the future to be on lookout for when a post last was!

I hope this doesn't sound rude at all! That's not my intent
