Is regular ELMER"S SCHOOL GLUE safe for hamsters? (This is white liquid glue)

can i use HOT GLUE on hamster diy's too?

Both glues are non-toxic, but i don't know if they are hamster safe?!?

The Elmer's School glue is probably safer than the hot glue because a hamster can't digest the hot glue if the hamster accidentally chews and swallows it. You can use both of them but make sure your hamster doesn't chew on them  :valentine: .

I always recommend non toxic school glue so what you have should work fine.

Both are safe if they are non-toxic but if you're using hot glue, be sure to be careful with how much glue you use as it is easier for hamsters to digest Elmer's Glue if they swallow some.

Elmer's glue is the best one to use. Hot glue could block their intestines if swallowed. You can use hot glue if you know

for certain that your hamster doesn't chew.

Thanks!

Elmers non-toxic school glue should be better than hot glue. Hot glue is plastic-based so if the hamster accidentally swallows some it would be really hard for them to digest it. Of course you can use hot glue but if you do use the toy as a playtime toy so it is under supervision when she is playing with it. Good luck! I too am I major DIY-er and love to make stuff for Tango.

Elmers school glue is okay but hamsters can't digest hot glue so if you use hot glue just make sure your hamster isn't chewing on it.

I hope you don't mind me borrowing this post to ask a similiar question. I don't have access to Elmer's glue, so i was wondering, is PVA wood glue safe to use?

Is the wood glue labelled nontoxic? If it is, it would probably be safe to use. Actually, I use wood glue on almost every thing I make (since I have wood glue but no Elmer's school glue). I also think that wood glue is better at bonding.

I just built a house made of popsicle sticks using Elmer's glue to bond them. Seems ok and the hamsters aren't biting any part of the house (yet).

I completly forgot to answer this, sorry!
It doesn't say non-toxic, but it is marketed specifically for children, and it's water based. I haven't found any glue in my country that says it's non-toxic, i don't know if it's because of how we lable things, but it's making DIY hamster projects really hard to do :/

Maybe if possible try to order some non-toxic, water based, school glue online as it is probably safer than wood glue. As I live in England we don't have elmers glue but we have pritt sticks and pritt glue which is safe if you have it in your country. They are solvent free and are made for kids, but are great at sticking things together. Any glue marketed as being "Safe for kids" or "School glue" it should be fine. If its not possible to order online maybe check what the ingredients are and look up if they are safe for hamsters. If your hamster doesn't chew things and you supervise normal wood glue might be ok, don't take my word for it though, I wouldn't risk it.

Hot glue sticks are pretty much just plastic, so it's not safe for hamsters. Elmer's glue, I'm pretty sure is water-based and non-toxic. That's safer to use on projects for your hamster.
