You see, I have a robo dwarf hamster who only has 3 legs. His name is Kiki. It was originally my younger brother's hamster but he neglected and traumatized the hamster. So I took over it since I had a hamster before but he passed away because of old age. Anyways this hamster became mine so I tried slowly to gain his trust. I put my hand in slowly with food on it so he can start recognizing me. I did this for a month. He slowly start to open up to me, he start to let me pick him up but not take him out of the cage. I thought everything was going well until my cat came into my room and knocked over his cage. I believed it traumatized him again because later he didn't want to be picked up or taken out of his cage. He hides in the corner of his cage. FYI my cat is never allowed in my room were the hamster is but I share a room with my younger sister and she occasionally leaves the door open sometimes. So I believe he was more traumatized than he was before and I can't really gain his trust like I did before. He is more cautious to everything and he stays in a corner.

Unfortunately you can't explain and reason with hamsters. IF ONLY we could. You're just going to have to be patient and work back up to it again. When he's out, quietly talk next to him and get him used to your voice. Slow movements when you offer him treats. It will take a while, but he will come around eventually ![]()

well i had the same experience, but my hamster is winter white. My sister knock it off. Luckily, they are still okay. FYI, robo hamsters are very very cautious, and is very aware at all times. They also get traumatized very easily. All you can do is retry everything you did. You can also try rubbing tissue papers on your hand and put it in the cage to let it get familiar with your scent.
