Hey! I'm new to HH, so I don't know if this was the appropriate place to put this, but my Syrian hamster escaped to the bottom of the dishwasher, and now she's [behind] it. I'm not sure how to get her out. It's been a few hours, and I've placed treats, food and a cucumber under the dishwasher. I've set up hamster traps, and I'm not sure what to do next. Please help?

if I were you, I think I'd just leave food(something your hamster really loves) in front of the dishwasher and wait for him to come out. once he comes out, I would trap him somehow. what kind of traps did you set up, and where?

I set up a bucket trap and a "trap" with peanut butter smeared inside her cage.

I would set the bucket trap where I put the food in front of the dishwasher. that way, if it works, you should be able to catch him.

also, can you confirm your Syrian is hiding there? if you can't, then this is what I would do - put flour around the food in front of the dishwasher, and leave it alone for an hour or so. when you come back, there may be footprints in the flour or missing food. or who knows, maybe your hamster will be there. I hope this helps.

I'm sure she's hiding in there. I have the traps set up right in front of the dishwasher, but I don't even know if she can get out from behind the dishwasher.

are you able to move the dishwasher, even a little bit? maybe if you moved it slightly, he could get out.

No. The dishwasher's attached to a bunch of power cords. There's no carpenter near where I live to help.

I don't know. I guess your only option is to wait it out. also, do you know where she got in? if she got behind it, she'll probably just find her way out again.

p.s. sorry I wasn't much help, and I hope she gets out.

It's fine. I appreciate your effort to help. I'll see if I can lure her out with any more treats.
